Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Agayeva / The Maldives may supply sea food to Azerbaijan if the Azerbaijani side shows such an interest. The prospects of such cooperation were discussed by the Minister of Fishing Economy of Maldives and the Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Maldives, Tamerlan Garayev, the Ambassador informed on 21 August by telephone from the Maldives.
According to the Ambassador, the Maldives is one of the largest suppliers of fish and the share of the fishing economy in the country's GDP makes up 17%. The county has vast experience in the fishing industry. "If we take into consideration that Azerbaijan also exports fishing products, the exchange of experience would be useful to us," the Ambassador said. The sides reached an agreement to establish an exchange of experience between the State and private companies.
