Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 February / Trend / In January 2008, oil production in Azerbaijan comprised 3.8mln tons, while in January 2007 it made up 3.4mln tons, the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reported.
Major oil and gas volume was produced by the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), which extracted 3mln tons of oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli bloc of off-shore fields, while in January 2007 the production totalled 2.7mln tons.
The volume of gas production made up 1.3bln cu m, while in January 2007 it was 672mln cu m. The production of gas from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields made up 749mln cu m of gas (including casing-head gas).
In January 2008, electricity production in Azerbaijan comprised 2.3bln KW/hour, and in the same period of last year it was 2.24bln KW/hour.
