Azerbaijan, Baku, 24 July / Trend / Water treatment units of Ekol Muhendislik Xidmetleri CJSC, which is located at the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, daily treat 1,700-1,800 cu m per hour of polluted industrial water.
About 40% of treated water (720 cu m per hour) goes to closed water supply system of the Refinery and 60% (1,080 cu m per hour) goes to biological treatment unit.
Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev produces the gross light oil products of Azerbaijan. This year, the plant is expected to process 5mln tons of oil supplied by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), which produces the oil through its own funds. In January to June, the Refinery processed over 2.3mln tons of oil. In the 1st half of 2008, the plant produced over 1.1mln tons of diesel fuel, while in the same period of 2007 the amount totalled 625,000 tons.
Ekol Muhendislik Xidmetleri CJSC treats at the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery about 15mln cu m of industrial water. Monthly treatment of polluted water totals 1.3mln cu m, with 600,000 cu m going to the closed water supply system.
SOCAR (51%) and Lancer S.A. Services (49%) are the co-founders of Ekol Muhendislik Xidmetleri CJSC, which was established on 1 March 2006 to solve environmental problems of the Absheron Peninsula.
