SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) plans to begin drilling of operational gas condensate wells on the "March 8 - 730 "platform on the field of the same name, a source in SOCAR said on Sept.11. SOCAR develops the field independently.
At present, SOCAR conducts work on installing the necessary equipment on the platform and it is scheduled to start drilling next month, the source said.
Earlier, it is scheduled to begin drilling new wells on the "March 8 - 578" platform, but due to the fact that the setting of the rig complicates the production from other wells, it was decided to move the drilling rig on the "March 8 - 730"platform and start drilling here.
The designed depth of the well is 5,800 meters. The expected daily debit of the well is about 350, 000 cubic meters of gas and 40 tons of condensate, the source said.
Currently the company produces 420,000cubic meters of gas per day from the "March 8" field, The Company's geologists have identified nine points for further drilling, SOCAR said eralier.
