SOCAR to open two more petrol stations in Georgia

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) plans to put into operation two petrol stations in Georgia under its brand one of these days, SOCAR's subsidiary, SOCAR Energy Georgia, said today.

A source said that two petrol stations will be put into operation in Tbilisi in the nearest future. Operations to construct petrol stations in Barzhomi and Dapnari continue. They are planned to be put into operation by late 2009.

"Two petrol stations will be opened one of these days. One will be opened in Zestafoni, the other one in Sagarejo," the source said.

SOCAR Energy Georgia deals with the distribution and marketing of oil and oil products in the country. SOCAR Georgia co-founders include: SOCAR - 51 percent, Petro-Trans FZCO - 32.7 percent and Ivan Chkhartishvili -16.3 percent.
