Azerbaijan to increase gas production by 1.5 billion cubic meters in 2013

According to forecasts of gas production and supply in Azerbaijan in 2013, the amount of gas production in the country will be 30 billion cubic meters compared to 28.5 billion cubic meters this year, said in data provided by SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) at the exhibition "Caspian Oil and Gas, Oil Refining and Petrochemicals", held in Baku June 1-4.

Some 21.7 billion cubic meters of the total amount of gas, which will be produced in the country in 2013, will fall to the consortium of foreign companies, which jointly with SOCAR develop the block of offshore Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields and the Shah Deniz gas condensate field, located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. SOCAR's share in 2013 will be 8.3 billion cubic meters of gas from the total production.

In 2010, 21.1 billion cubic meters of the total amount of gas to be produced in Azerbaijan, will fall to the consortium of foreign companies, and the remaining 7.4 billion cubic meters will be produced by SOCAR.

About seven billion cubic meters of the total amount of gas which will be produced in Azerbaijan in 2013 will fall to export. Nine billion cubic meters will be pumped into the reservoir to preserve pressure on the fields ACG. The remaining 2.5 billion will be used for personal needs of the consortium of foreign companies and SOCAR.

Some 21.5 billion cubic meters of the total amount produced in 2012 will fall to the share of the consortium of foreign companies compared to 21.3 billion cubic meters in 2011. In 2012, SOCAR will get eight billion cubic meters of gas compared to 7.7 billion cubic meters in 2011.
