Iran, Russia to sign agreement to prepare "road map"

Iranian Oil Minister Masoud Mirkazimi will visit Moscow July 14, FARS reported.

During the one-day visit, Mirkazimi will meet with Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko and Head of the Central Bank of Russia. During the visit, the sides are expected to sign an agreement on the preparation of the "road map" for cooperation between Iran and Russia in energy.

Iranian Oil Ministry's International Relations Europe, America and the Caspian Sea Secretariat Head Hussein Ismaili said of the "road map", the development which is specified in the agreement, will create a program of cooperation between the two countries over the next 30 years, SHANA reported.

He said the agreement suggests that investors from Iran will be able to invest in oil and gas industry of Russia. "The most important issue in the preparation of the" road map " is a collaboration between Iran and Russia to develop oil fields in both countries, as well as oil and gas fields located in any third country," Ismaili said.

Ismaili said after the preparation of the "road map" cooperation between Iran and Russia will continue as part of this document and any other cooperation in oil and gas sector will be included in this framework.

The draft road map reflected issues such as: sale of oil one country to another exchange, creation of joint companies, the establishment of the Joint Bank of energy and fund, he added.
