Novorossiysk Port decreases shipments of oil-related products

The Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk shipped 28.64 million tons of oil in January-August 2010, compared to 29.68 million tons during the same period last year.

The Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk shipped 28.64 million tons of oil in January-August 2010, compared to 29.68 million tons during the same period last year.

Roughly 8.7 million tons of Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port oil products were shipped in January- August 2009, compared to over 8.9 million tons during the same period in 2009.

A total of 57.13 million tons of various cargo were transported in January- August 2010, compared to 58.14 million tons during the same period last year.

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) is shipping its own gas via the port.

SOCAR exported about 2.5 million tons via the Baku-Novorossiysk in 2009, compared to 1.2 million tons in 2008. Roughly 1.2 million tons of oil were exported via the pipeline in 2007, which is similar to the 2006 figure. In 2005, Baku-Novorossiysk exported 1.6 million tons of oil.
