It is planned to build Alpana hydropower plant with capacity of 70.6 megawatts in the region of Racha-Lechkhumi (Western Georgia), the Georgian Ministry of Energy said. Hydropower power plant will be built across the Rioni River.
Applications of those interested in the construction of hydropower plant will be accepted in the Energy Ministry until October 8.
After reading the applications the government will select the investor with the best conditions, and then clarify the issue who specifically will be engaged in the construction of new hydropower plant.
