Turkmenistan can supply up to 40 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe, the vice prime minister of Turkmenistan Baymurad Hodzhamuhamedov said during his speech at the Ashgabat forum 'Oil and Gas -2010'.

According to him, Turkmenistan is building a gas pipeline 'East-West' with a capacity of 30 billion cubic meters to supply gas in the western direction.
"Given the domestic consumption in the west of the country and gas supplies from there to Iran, we will have about 40 billion cubic meters of gas annually for export, so that European countries do not have to worry," said Hodzhamuhamedov.

He also noted that the construction of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline under the Caspian Sea comply with the policy of Turkmenistan to diversify the directions of marketing natural gas.
Construction of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline will allow transporting Turkmen gas to Azerbaijan and from there to Europe.

"In compliance with all environmental standards and conduct of expertise, the construction of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline will be coordinated, which corresponds to Turkmenistan's policy of diversification of natural gas sales," said Hodzhamuhamedov.

Also, touching upon the resource base for Nabucco gas pipeline project, Turkmenistan's deputy prime minister said: "Already in 2011, Turkmenistan needs a market for gas produced by the Malaysian Petronas Company on offshore block in volume of five billion cubic meters.
