SOCAR started drilling a high-debit well on the Guneshli Field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, SOCAR said.
SOCAR-AQS LLC drills the well upon the order of the oil and gas department on May 28."
The new well is drilled from the platform Gunashli-13. The project depth of the well is 3,500 meters. According to SOCAR geologists, the daily production rate is expected to reach 30 tons of condensate and 200,000 cubic meters of gas.
The shallow part of the Guneshli deposit is being developed by SOCAR at its own expense, and the deep part in the block of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli together with a consortium of foreign companies.
SOCAR-AQS was founded on Dec.19 in 2007. The company's shareholders are: SOCAR - 51 percent, and Abseron Qazma - 49 percent.
