The Khachmaz power plant generated more than 35.3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in January this year, or 313,000 kilowatt-hours more that it was predicted, Azerenergy JSC (generation and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan) said.
According to the information, the station generated more than 235.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity last year with the forecast of 222.3 million kilowatt-hours.
The station consists of ten units with total capacity of 87 megawatts. It was commissioned in December 2006. The Khachmaz power plant is one of the stations constructed with the introduction of new technologies. After commissioning of this facility, power supply of the northern region of the country rather improved.
