Turkish business circles are interested in Ashgabat's policy of diversifying gas supplies, Turkish President Abdullah Gul said after meeting with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Gul was on his working visit to the city of Turkmenbashi.

"The high rates of developing the Turkmen economy and the policy of diversifying gas supplies stimulate the interest of not only Turkish business circles, but all the world's leading economies," local media quoted the Turkish leader as saying.

Turkmenistan considers the supply of Turkmen energy resources to world markets as an important means to achieve global energy security, the Turkmen president said.

The two countries are interested in implementing the project of transporting Turkmen gas to Europe.

Turkmenistan ranks fourth on gas reserves in the world after Russia, Iran and Qatar.

Southern Yoloten Osman is the largest field located on the east.

According to the local geologists, its resources hit 21-22 trillion cubic meters.
