Iran, China negotiate $2.5 bln refinery contract

Iran and China are negotiating over construction of a refinery in Iran's western region and after finalizing the agreement, China w ill put $2.5 billion in this project, reported Pananews quitong Managing Director of Anahita Refinery Company Ali Jamshidi as saying.

Jamshidi noted that $2.5 billion is needed to build Anahita's new refinery in Kermanshah city.

The National Iranian Oil Refining & Distribution Company holds a 20 -percent stake in thepro ject and China holds the rest 80 -percent of shares.

Kermanshah's Anahita refinery project planned to be operational in three year s with capacity of refining 150,000 barrels ofcrude oil in day, including 7 million liters of gasoline, 9 million liters of diesel, 5.3 million liters of kerosene, 600,000 liters of LNG an d 2 million liters of furnace oil.
