Fire in the oil refinery in Shymkent city of Kazakhstan has been extinguished, a source in the oil refinery told Novosti-Kazakhstan on Monday.
According to witnesses, the fire broke out at about 14:30 local time, smoke puffs rose 30 meters high.
"The fire took place in the rectifying column. At preset, the fire has been extinguished. The first fire engines left the scene," the source said.
At present, the cause of fire and damage is being clarified. No casualties and injured are reported yet.
Shymkent oil refinery was commissioned in 1985. The design capacity of the oil refinery is 6 million tons per year.
