SOCAR will start drilling a new well on the major Umid gas field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea in May, a SOCAR source toldTrend on Wednesday.
The source noted that the drilling of the third well will launch after the second well is completed.
The third well's design depth will be the same as the second's -- 6,500 meters, the source said.
SOCAR experts said the field's volume is over 200 billion cubic meters of gas and 40 million tons of condensate.
