As a result of a rescue operation, a tanker stranded on Sunday on coral reefs in the southern part of Kish Island in the Iranian sector of the Persian Gulf, was lifted off and shipped to the island’s port, Mehr agency reported on Monday.

As a result of a rescue operation, a tanker stranded on Sunday on coral reefs in the southern part of Kish Island in the Iranian sector of the Persian Gulf, was lifted off and shipped to the island's port, Mehr agency reported on Monday.

Some 30,000 tons of fuel oil are on board the 180-metre Togo-flag tanker. Fortunately the accident didn't incur any leaks and no spills of fuel oil were observed. Experts are now examining the vessel for damage.
