The Kyrgyz gas company paid the remaining $2.5 million to the Kazakh KazTransGas, Kyrgyz gas company deputy director Eugen Orlenko said on May 22, Ca-news reported.

The talks with Kazakhstan concerning extension in gas supplies in the amount of 90 million cubic meters and at the price $224 until the end of the year still continue, he said.

KazTransGas Director General Nurbol Sultan told Tazabek on May 10 that the company sent new gas prices comprising the gas debt and awaits the reply. Eugen Orlenko did not confirm this information.

On May 11, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan Esengul Omuraliev said following the visit of President Almazbek Atambaev to Kazakhstan that there is the so-called deferred debt in the amount of $11.6 million. Kazakhstan says that was investment of the KyrKazGas, but Kyrgyzstan doesn't recognize this. The joint commission will be created to investigate this fact, the Ambassador said.
