Drilling the second well down to 2,850 meters depth hit natural gas reserves at the South Pars gas field's phase 13, the project manager of the phase 13 stated.

Alireza Arzandeh added that the drilling operations were completed ahead of the schedule, the Pana News Agency reported.

The onshore section of the phase 13 has been developed by three percent per month since the beginning of the current calendar year (March 20), he noted.

Pars Oil and Gas Company's website has reported that the phase 13's capacity will be equivalent to two standard phases of the South Pars. It should deliver 50 million cubic meters of purified natural gas, 400 tons of sulfur, 1.1 million cubic meters of LPG and 1 million cubic meters of ethane per day.

The South Pars gas field is shared by Iran and Qatar. The Iranian share, which is divided into 29 phases, has about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas, or about eight percent of the total world reserves
