The clearing and preparing process of the North Pars Special Economic Energy Zone as Iran's third energy hub started with the aim of developing new gas fields such as Farzad A and B.
South Pars gas field with 10 refinery phases and a daily production capacity of 300
million cubic meters of natural gas is currently the greatest energy hub of Iran and the Middle East, Mehr News Agency reported.
Based on the report, The National Oil Ministry intends to develop new gas fields such as Farzad A and B in the Persian Gulf and extend Golshan, Ferdousi and North Pars gas fields in the future.
The Special Economic Energy Zone Organization announced that locating, fencing, and road building has begun in North Pars zone and these infrastructures will soon be utilized to develop gas fields and set up new petrochemical projects.
Discovered in 1965, the North Pars gas field is 120 kilometers east of the port city of Bushehr in the Persian Gulf.
Iran is the second major holder of gas deposits in the world.
