The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported about 2.34 million tons of oil from the Georgian port of Supsa in January-October 2012 compared to over 2.25 million tons in January-October 2011, SOCAR said on Friday.
Some 161,550 tons of oil were exported from Supsa in October 2012 compared to 161,670 tons in October 2011, the report says.
SOCAR exported 2,65 million tons from the port of Supsa in 2011 compared to 2.84 million tones in 2010.
Oil is delivered to Supsa via the Baku-Supsa pipeline.
SOCAR exported 2.84 million tons of Azeri Light crude oil extracted from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli Field in 2010 compared to 2.79 million tons in 2009.
The company did not transport oil in this direction in 2007 due to repairs on the pipeline, which launched in November 2006. The pipeline was filled with oil in mid-2008, but was suspended due to the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict. Oil transportation was restored in early November 2008.
BP is the operator of the Baku-Supsa pipeline.
