SOCAR (The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) exported 2.74 million tons of oil from the Georgian port of Supsa in 2012 compared to 2.65 million tons of oil in 2011, a statement released by SOCAR on Monday says.

In December of 2012, nearly 161, 61 thousand tons of oil were exported from Supsa, compared to about 161.7 thousand tons in December of 2011, the report said.

In 2010, SOCAR exported 2.84 million tons of oil from the port of Supsa.
Oil is delivered to Supsa via the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline.
In 2010, SOCAR exported 2.84 million tons of Azeri Light crude oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields (ACG) via the Western pipeline route, compared to 2.79 million tons in 2009.

In 2007, oil was not shipped via this pipeline due to repairs that started in November of 2006. In mid-2008, the process of filling the pipeline with oil began, however, because of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict, the process was halted. Oil transportation via this pipeline was restored at the beginning of November, 2008.

BP is the pipeline's operator.
