Turkey puts up another thermal power plant for privatization

Turkey plans to put up Kangal thermal power plant, located in the province of Sivas, for privatization, the Turkish Privatization Agency's (OIB) report published on its website on Friday said.

As part of the privatization licenses will be granted for use of movable and immovable property belonging to the thermal power plant as well as mines, used by the plant.

Earlier, privatization of the largest thermal power plant in Turkey 'Seyitomer' in the province of Kutahya was completed in December 2012.

Tender for privatization of the Turkish company was won by Celikler İnsaat. The cost of privatization amounted $2.2 billion.

Previously, Turkish Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said that a record number of state enterprise privatisation transactions are expected to occur in Turkey in 2013.

In particular, a number of the country's hydro and thermal power station production facilities will be offered for privatization in 2013.
