In January-April 2013, the Baku International Sea Trade Port transported 437,000 tons of oil cargo versus 470,000 tons of oil in the same period of 2012, a source at the port told Trend on Friday.
The decrease in oil cargo transhipment from Central Asia is associated with their redirection to the Sangachal oil terminal in Azerbaijan.
"There was a decline in the transhipment of oil and oil products in January-April, when the port transported 437,000 tons," a source said.
In 2012, the port transhipped 1.4 million tons of oil cargo compared to 1.74 million tons in 2011.
In 2010, the port transported 1.99 million tons of oil cargo which is 21 per cent less than in 2009.
