Georgia increases import of oil products in May 2013

Georgia imported 74,000 tons of oil products in May 2013 which is 6000 more compared to April, the Georgian Oil Products Importers Union told Trend on Tuesday.

According to the report, petrol imports among the imported petroleum products last month totalled 28,100 tons or 1400 tons more than in April. Diesel fuel imports hit 45,900 tons or 5000 tons more than the previous month of 2013.

According to the Georgian Oil Products Importers Union, around 295,900 tons of oil products were imported to Georgia during the first five months of 2013. Among them, petrol hit 130,800 tons and diesel fuel - 165,100 tons.

Imports of petrol to Georgia decreased by 4500 tons and diesel fuel down by 300 tons compared to 2012.

According to the Georgian Oil Products Importers Union, the growth of petrol imports and diesel fuel is positive compared to the previous month. This is directly connected with the recent intensification of the country's economy.
