Kazakhstan may enter the top 10 of the largest oil producing countries, Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Uzakbay Karabalin said at a press-conference of the Central Communication Service on Wednesday.

"Kazakhstan expects further growth in the production of hydrocarbons in the near future. In this regard, Kazakhstan is one of the few countries whose production peak has yet to come. As of our prognoses, the level of oil production in Kazakhstan may exceed 110 million tons by 2030, which gives grounds to enter the top 10 of the largest oil producing countries in the future," the minister said.

According to him, the basis projects on this issue are these giant fields: Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan.

"They are very difficult projects in terms of technology, therefore, the work on them should be rigorous," Karabalin said. .

According to the minister, the growth in production volume in the Republic will pave the way for the formation of needed infrastructure.

"Such large-scale projects as the expansion of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, Kazakhstan-China oil pipeline, Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent pipeline and others will allow our state to look forward with confidence in matters of transportation of hydrocarbons and target the most promising markets," the Minister stressed.
