Electricity prices increase in Kazakhstan

The electricity prices increased by 6.2 percent in Kazakhstan during a year, Ranking.kz. analytical service said.

"Thus, 100 kWh cost 1,100 tenge in October 2014 compared to 1,036 tenge in October 2013," the analysts said.

The electricity price increased in 15 regions.

The highest annual tariff growth was fixed in Zhezkazgan - 37 percent (up to 1,456 tenge), while in Almaty - 1,621 tenge per 100 kWh, Kostanay Kyzylorda - 1,537 tenge and 1,502 tenge, respectively.

The cheapest electricity is in Aktau, Atyrau and Uralsk. The basic tariff in Aktau is 538 tenge or twofold less than the average figure in the country. The prices declined only in Aktobe. The prices reduced by 2 percent compared to 2013.
