Gas consumption increases in Turkey

Turkey's Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS) imported 36.88 b c m of gas from various sources in January-November 2015 compared to 35.67 b c m in the same period of 2014, BOTAS said Jan. 5.

Turkey imports gas from Azerbaijan supplied via the South Caucasus gas pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum).

Turkey has a contract for the annual purchase of 6.6 b c m of gas from the Azerbaijani offshore gas condensate Shah Deniz field.

In total, BOTAS imported 40 b c m of gas from various sources in 2014 compared to 36.1 b c m in 2013.

Around 566 m c m of gas accounted for the export operations of BOTAS in Jan.-Nov. 2015 compared to 588 m c m in the same period of 2014.
In total, the company exported 644 m c m of gas in 2014 compared to 694 m c m in 2013.

Some 36.22 b c m of gas were sold on Turkey's domestic market in Jan.-Nov. 2015, compared to 36.36 b c m in the same period of 2014.

This index reached 40.81 b c m of gas as of 2014 compared to around 37.96 b c m in 2013.
