The Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR intends to produce 7.2 billion cubic meters of gas in 2019, according to the conclusion of the Azerbaijan Chamber of Accounts on the draft state budget for the next year.
Compared to the forecast for 2018, SOCAR will increase gas production by 0.8 billion cubic meters or 12.5 percent.
In July-September 2018, SOCAR produced 1.67 billion cubic meters of gas through its own funds at offshore and onshore fields of the country (an increase of 11 percent for the year).
SOCAR was able to increase gas production by increasing the drilling operations. In total, over 42,000 meters were drilled during the quarter.
