Trend:

Iran's daily CNG production amounts to 40 million cubic meters and presently 22 million of that is daily distributed and consumed, the head of Iran's CNG Association Ardashir Dadras said in an interview with Mizan News Agency.

Dadras said that this figure covers 25 percent of light vehicles' fuel consumption in the country.

"Presently, there are 2,450 CNG filling stations in Iran. As a result of the efforts, nearly 80 percent of equipment and technologies in CNG industry are domestically produced and the rest is also planned to be produced within Iran," Dadras said.

"We hope that the CNG consumption of local cars will increase from 25 percent to 40-50 percent. As a result, most of the country's gas consumption will account for transportation," he added.
