“In 2018 the newly set up IBM Caspian subsidiary allowed to make IBM’s products and services more accessible to our clients in Azerbaijan. The two ongoing projects I would like to highlight are the digital transformation project at SOCAR and the blockchain project with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan,” he said.

Ibrahimov went on to add that these projects indicate a high digital transformation momentum in the country, in line with the global trends.

“In 2018 we also made sure, by providing training and certification, that our local business partner ecosystem is developing to meet the demand for the design of value-added solutions aided by advanced analytics and AI technologies from IBM,” he said. “ Together with our local ecosystem and based on our global experience and capabilities, we will continue to help companies and organizations in Azerbaijan go through their AI and cloud journeys, as they transform their business models for the digital economy era and get more insights from the data they generate.
