Uzbekistan's project in TOP-5 refining, petrochemical projects in Caspian Sea, Central Asia

Organizer of the conference "Refining and Petrochemicals of the Caspian and Central Asia" Globuc together with the analytical company GlobalData named the top 5 projects for refining and petrochemicals, Trend reports with reference to Global Data.

An international conference will be held September 23-24 in Nur Sultan (former Astana), Kazakhstan.

The top 5 included planned and announced projects in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.

Uzbekistan's project deals with construction of a petrochemical plant in Navoi.

Navoiazot is working on the construction of several petrochemical plants at once. These enterprises will produce ammonia, urea, caustic soda, methanol and PVC. It is planned that all these plants will begin production in 2020. The total capital cost of this project is estimated at $1.512 million.

The city of Navoi is the leading industrial center of Uzbekistan.

Also, the project on modernization of the Baku Oil Refinery in Azerbaijan that entered the top five as well.

In addition, the top 5 included the construction of a complex of petrochemical plants in Atyrau (Kazakhstan), a gas-chemical complex in Kiyanly (Turkmenistan) and the production of urea and ammonia in Levakant (Tajikistan).
