Kazakh-Chinese 'green' energy project launched in Kazakhstan

The ceremony of opening of ENEVERSE KUNKUAT LLP solar power park of 100 MW capacity took place in Kazakhstan’s Almaty region near Kapchagay city, Trend reports with reference to the press office of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.

According to the press office, the projects for the construction of the solar park is a unique ‘green’ energy project.

The project has been initiated by Kazakh-Chinese joint venture ENEVERSE KUNKUAT LLP, the ultimate owner of which is Universal Energy Co., Ltd (UE). UE focuses its activities in the area of solar energy, wind energy, as well as on transmission and distribution of electricity. It is based in Shanghai, China.

The solar park is 13 kilometers to the north of Kapchagay city.

The own assets of investors amounted to 10.4 billion tenge. Furthermore, Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC and DBK-Leasing JSC also participated in the project’s funding.

Within the framework of Business Roadmap 2020 state program, 233 million tenge were allocated for the construction of high-voltage line 220 kV.

The total cost of the project’s implementation amounted to 27.7 billion tenge. Some 35 new work places were created following the launch.
