Iran's oil ministry priority is to transfer gas to Sistan and Baluchestan Province in order to improve the infrastructures in Chabahar, Makran and Konarak ports, said CEO of National Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company.

"Supplying gas to these regions can have important role in forming required infrastructures in the region, improving economic activities in the south east of country, and activating the only port connected to the ocean," said Bahram Salavati, Trend reports citing SHANA.

The official emphasized that the gas supply projects in Mokran, Chabahr and Konarak special economic zones including Mokran petrochemical company as well plants and industrial cities in Chabahar and Konarak will improve the energy consumption.

"The gas will be supplied to this region via the country's seventh general pipeline," he added.

Chabahar Port is located in southeastern Iran, on the Gulf of Oman. It serves as Iran's only oceanic port, and consists of two separate ports.
