Russia’s Omskiy Kauchuk company, which is a part of Titan group of companies, has exported benzene of Kazakhstan’s Atyray refinery manufacturing for the first time ever, Trend reports with reference to the Argus agency.

The company has purchased goods for test use when manufacturing phenol in order to have alternative raw materials supply sources.

There are plans that Omskiy Kauchuk will import Kazakh benzene in 2020 in case of product shortage on Russian market.

Agency also notes that Atyrau refinery’s export of benzene to Russia increased by 9,500 tons during 11 months of 2019 compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to 20,900 tons.

Previously, benzene of Atyrau refinery manufacturing was imported by Russia’s KuibyshevAzot and Shchekinoazot companies.

Furthermore, recent completion of modernization of all Kazakh refineries allowed to fully meet the demand on domestic market, which in turn created new opportunities for the export of Kazakh products.
