Azerbaijan exported over 1 billion cubic meters of gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline in January 2020, which is 12.2 percent more compared to the same period of 2019,Trend reports referring to the country’s State Statistical Committee.
Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum accounted for 33.9 percent of the total gas transported by Azerbaijan. The figure rose by 0.8 percent, compared to the same period last year.
Over 3.1 billion cubic meters of gas were transported by Azerbaijan through trunk pipelines overall in January 2020, which is 7.9 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
The length of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is more than 700 kilometers. This gas pipeline transports the gas produced at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The gas is supplied to Georgia and Turkey.
