Kazakhstan approves its bitumen production plans for 2020

Kazakhstan’s demand for bitumen will by 983,800 tons in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the press office of the ministry.

The topic was discussed during the meeting chaired by Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy Nurlan Nogayev.

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development each year approve a joint schedule for production of bitumen in order to provide for stable supply of bitumen to the domestic market.

During the meeting Nogayev noted that the volume of oil processing is approved in accordance to the local market demand for petroleum products, including for the bitumen.

He added that untimely fulfillment of road companies their liabilities in fuel oil sampling can lead to negative consequences for the industry and affect the planned indicators in terms of oil refining and production of oil products.

The minister also highlighted the need to strengthen work regarding the timely submission of consolidated data on the bitumen demand and ensuring timely and uninterrupted applications submission by buyers as this affects the stable production and shipment of bitumen by oil refineries.
