Trend:

For the first time, a very deep well is planned to be drilled at the Uzynada oil-bearing area, located in the coastal zone of the Caspian sea in Turkmenistan, Trend reports citing the "Zolotoy Vek" (Golden Age) newspaper.

To move the project forward, the State Oil Concern of Turkmenistan, Turkmennebit has announced a tender for the purchase of equipment for drilling operations at a depth of up to 9,000 meters.

According to Ramazan Urumov, head of the innovative technologies Department at Turkmennebit, in 1972 first exploration well was drilled here at a depth of 4,213 meters, but no productive layers were found at the time.

"Last year, Turkmen oil workers returned to the closed research well № 1 and started drilling it. On January 19, 2020, at a depth of 6,746-6,752 meters, a daily inflow of 106,000 cubic meters of gas and 143 tons of condensate was received," he said.

Work at the Uzynada field allowed to gain experience of accelerating the drilling operations, and extracting hydrocarbon raw materials from great depths. Digital technologies and high-performance equipment were used for this purpose.

Currently, Turkmennebit and Turkmengeologiya specialists are drilling several research wells in order to better study the oil and gas prospects of the Uzynada area.
