Increasing the volume of local oil and gas production, maintaining high growth rates and investment activity in this area are the main tasks of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to Watan newspaper.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed relevant authorities to monitor the work carried out in this area, said the report.
It is significant for Turkmenistan to implement the development program of country’s fuel and energy sector. This program is aimed at upgrading the export potential of the country's oil and gas industry by introducing innovative technologies.
Strengthening mutually beneficial relations with leading foreign companies that have advanced technologies and necessary experience in these areas is also important for Turkmenistan, the report said.
The construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline is an example of mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and other countries. This pipeline plays an important role in the world energy policy.
Turkmenistan pays special attention to the creation of oil and gas processing plants, as well as to the transfer of energy resources to the world markets. The gas chemical complex for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene in the Balkan region of Turkmenistan can exemplify success of the work in the area.
