Some 16 Iranian petrochemical plants will be overhauled in the first half of the current Iranian year (starting from March 20, 2020), Trend reports citing Iran's National Petrochemical Company.
According to the report, the repairs will be carried out in order to ensure sustainable production, meet the needs of the country and continue exports.
“A number of sections of Bandar Imam, Bouali Sina, Maroon, Razi, Fanavaran and Karoon petrochemical plants will be repaired in the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone. And a number of sections of Pars, Jam and Morvarid petrochemical plants in the Pars Energy Special Economic Zone also will be repaired,” report said.
According to the report, in addition, repair work will be carried out at Khorasan, Shiraz, Urmia and Ilam Petrochemical Plants.
“The repair work will be carried out in stages at the Mobin, Damavand and Fajr petrochemical plants, and production will continue along with the repairs,” statement said.
According to the report, Nouri, Pardis, Khark, Kermanshah, Khouzestan, Shahid Tondguyan, Arvand petrochemical plants, as well as sections of Bandar Imam, Urmia, Razi and Fanavaran petrochemical plants will be suspended for repairs in the second half of the year.
At present, Iran produces 66 million tons of petrochemical products a year. It is planned to increase this production to 100 million tons by 2022 and increase its income from $17 billion to $25 billion. At the same time, by 2026, Iran's petrochemical sector is expected to increase production to 133 million tons and revenues to $37 billion.
