Georgia reveals statistics of aviation oil imports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23

From January through May 2020, imports of aviation oil fell by 47.9 percent to 22,400 tons in Georgia, Trend reports via the Union of Oil Product Importers.

The import of this product increased by 200 percent in May comparing to April.

"In May 2020, the import of aviation oil to Georgia amounted to 3,000 tons, which is 2,000 tons or 200 percent more comparing to April (1,000 tons) and 9,000 tons or 75 percent less comparing to the same period of the last year (12,000 tons)," the report said.

As reported, in January-May of this year, the import of aviation oil amounted to 22,400 tons, which is 20,500 tons or 47.9 percent less comparing to the same period of the last year (42,900 tons)," the statement reads.

As for the importing countries, according to the Union of Oil Product Importers, in May Georgia bought aviation oil from Turkmenistan - 2,700 tons, 90 percent of imports; Turkey - 300 tons, 10 percent of imports.

The country imported aviation oil from the following countries in January-May: Turkmenistan - 17,300 tons, share in total imports - 77.2 percent; Turkey - 2,900 tons, 12.9 percent; Romania - 2,200 tons, 9.8 percent; Egypt - 30 tons, 0.1 percent.
