Petrochemical plant to be built in Iran’s Amirabad port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 20

A petrochemical plant will be built in the Amirabad port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran), the Governor of Mazandaran Province Ahmad Hossein Zadeghan, Trend reports, citing the governor office.

Hossein Zadeghan stressed that $370 million will be invested in the construction of this plant.

The governor added that preliminary agreements have been reached for the construction of a three-phase plant.

"The first phase of the plant will produce 120,000 tons of propylene a year," he said.

More than 183,800 tons of products were loaded and unloaded at the Amirabad port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 20-June 20, 2020).

About 55,200 tons of products were loaded and 128,600 tons were unloaded at the port. As many as 52,300 tons of products were exported and 128,200 tons of products were imported through the Amirabad port.

During this period, 64 tons of products were loaded for transit via the port.
