BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 29

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

The quality of diesel produced at Iran's Esfahan Oil Refining Company (EORC) in Isfahan Province of Iran will increase in the spring of next Iranian year (to start March 21, 2021) with the commissioning of the diesel filtration unit, said the CEO of EORC Morteza Ebrahimi, Trend reports citing the company’s official website.

Ebrahimi noted that the company currently produces about 22 million liters of diesel per day. However, only 2 million liters of it meet the Euro standards.

He added that with the commissioning of the filtration unit, all diesel produced at this plant will meet Euro standards.

The CEO emphasized that the company currently produces about 12 million liters of gasoline per day in accordance with Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards.

“The plant on sulfur treatment is under construction at the company. Due to the complexity of the construction of the plant, it will be commissioned in the next 4 years. All oil products produced by the company will meet Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards with the commissioning of this plant," he said.

Ebrahimi stressed that with the commissioning of this plant, production of light and heavy hydrocarbon products will increase and gasoline production will reach to 20 million liters per day.

The company's investment increased to 51 trillion rials (about $1.21 billion) in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).

Iran's Esfahan Oil Refining Company (EORC) was established in 1979. The company's plant consumes 360,000 barrels of oil per day. Iran's Esfahan Oil Refining Company supplies about 23 percent of Iran's oil products.
