Uzbekistan plans to start holding additional contests aimed at innovative development of fuel and energy complex and support of research and development in this field, Trend reports with reference to UzDaily News Agency.
It was announced during the meeting devoted to the discussion of bilateral projects in the field of energy, as well as possible future work with the assistance of specialists from the Ministry of Innovative Development and Ministry of Energy.
The working group consisting of experts of the Ministry of Energy, the Academy of Sciences, JSC National Power Grid of Uzbekistan to study the impact of renewable energy on the energy system of Uzbekistan is conducting a number of studies based on online training with practical assistance of the regional Power the Future program of USAID.
“Ratification of the Paris Climate Change Agreement in Uzbekistan has established a number of commitments for the country. In this regard, at the initiative of the Ministry of Innovative Development the potential of thermal, satellite and flare gases in Uzbekistan, use of secondary energy resources in the production of additional energy without fuel is being studied,” the message said.
Competitions are held within the framework of state scientific and technical programs aimed at the innovative development of fuel and energy complex and support of research and development in this area.
Under the results of the contest, Energy Ministry financing the project on the creation of automated software products to control the energy consumption of industrial enterprises at the amount of 460 million soum ($44.7 million) per year.
As of August 1, 2020, 24 thematic projects at the amount of 39.3 billion soum ($3.8 million) have been presented within the contest of state scientific programs held by the Ministry of Energy.
