Iran's Esfahan Oil Refining Company has increased its daily diesel production following Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards by 100 percent, Deputy Director of the Esfahan Oil Refining Company Alireza Jafarpour said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to Jafarpour, the company currently produces 4 million liters of diesel per day.

He added that several changes were carried out in the reactors of Isomax equipment of the company's refinery to increase the quality and quantity of produced diesel.

The deputy director noted in addition to the increase in production, environmental pollution has been significantly reduced.

"A large unit for diesel filtration will be put into operation at the company's refinery in the next Iranian year (to start March 21, 2021). There is currently more than 85 percent progress in the construction of this unit” he said.

Jafarpour stressed that with the launch of the unit in full, the company will produce 20 million liters of diesel per day following the Euro 5 standard.

The deputy director said 485 million euro and 31.9 trillion rials (about $760 million) is spent on the construction of this unit.

"With the launch of the diesel filtration unit, the sulfur content of diesel will be less than 10 PPM (Parts-per notation)," he added.

Iran's Esfahan Oil Refining Company (EORC) was established in 1979. The company's refinery consumes 360,000 barrels of oil per day. Iran's Esfahan Oil Refining Company supplies about 23 percent of Iran's oil products.
