Launch process for water and electricity facilities in Iran continues

A total of 250 water and electricity facilities are planned to be put into operation in Iran in the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020 - March 21, 2021), and this process currently continues, Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.

He made the remark via videoconference at the event dedicated to the launch of 3 water and electricity facilities today.

Ardakanian noted that so far, 124 water and electricity facilities worth 317 trillion rials (about $7.56 billion) have been launched in Iran.

The minister added that at the same time, 126 water and electricity facilities worth 180 trillion rials (about $4.28 billion) will be launched by the end of the current Iranian year.

“The current Iranian government has invested about 195 trillion rials (about $4.64 billion) to the water and electricity sectors in Tehran Province over the past seven years (the current Iranian government has been in power since 2013),” he said.

Ardakanian emphasized that of this amount, 110 trillion rials (about $2.62 billion) was invested to the water sector and the rest to the electricity sector.

Today on October 29, three water and electricity facilities have been launched in Iran's Tehran and Hormozgan provinces with an investment of 33.4 trillion rials (about $795 million).
