Diesel refinery to be launched in Iran's Esfahan Oil Refining Company

The Esfahan Oil Refining Company’s diesel refinery in Iran's Isfahan Province will be launched next year (from March 21, 2021 to March 21, 2022), Deputy Director of the Esfahan Oil Refining Company Alireza Jafarpour said, Trend reports citing Shana news agency.

According to Jafarpour, there is 85 percent progress in the construction of this refinery.

He added that the company has launched an extraordinary operation of the refinery, and when the refinery fully operational, it will produce daily 20 million liters of diesel in accordance with the Euro 5 standard.

The deputy director noted that the refinery will also produce diesel that of which sulfur content is less than 10 PPM.

Jafarpour stressed that about 495 million euro and 31.9 trillion rials (about $760 million) was allocated on the construction of the refinery.

“Iran's Esfahan Oil Refining Company has increased its daily diesel production in accordance with Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards from 2 million liters to 4 million liters in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 to March 21, 2021),” he said.

Iran's Esfahan Oil Refining Company (EORC) was established in 1979. The company's refinery consumes 360,000 barrels of oil per day. Iran's Esfahan Oil Refining Company supplies about 23 percent of Iran's oil products.
