Turkmenistan’s Turmennebit State Concern is putting into operation new productive wells at the North Goturdepe oil field, said Guichgeldi Baigeldiev, Chairman of Turkmennebit State Concern, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State news Agency.
Baigeldiev made this remark at a meeting dedicated to the development of the fuel and energysector of Turkmenistan.
Also Baigeldiev said about the prospecting work carried out by the state concern on the shelf and coast of the Caspian Sea implemented steps to attract investors for new projects in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.
In addition, he noted that work is currently underway to increase oil production, as well as to fulfill the instructions previously given by the leader of the nation.
As reported, Turkmenistan's Turkmennebit State Concern produced 2.6 million tons of oil from January through August of 2020, which is 6.2 percent higher than in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the volume of natural gas production increased by 415 million cubic meters compared to the corresponding period last year.
The growth of production is observed due to the use of modern techniques and technologies.
