Six of the eight catalysts used by Iran's Nouri Petrochemical Company are produced domestically, Managing Director of the company Taghi Sanei told journalists in 2nd conference and exhibition on support to domestic production, Trend reports citing the Shana news agency.
According to Sanei, the domestic production of these catalysts has largely prevented the outflow of the currency from the country and reduced dependence on foreign suppliers.
He added that the Nouri Petrochemical Company plans to produce 250,000-300,000 spare parts and equipment domestically a year.
The director noted that so far, more than 3,500 spare parts have been produced domestically based on the order of Nouri Petrochemical Company.
Sanei stressed that the Nouri Petrochemical Company has set a new record on the production of aromatic products in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, to March 21, 2021). So, more than 4.4 million tons of products have been produced so far. A total of more than 4.8 million tons is projected to be produced by the end of the current year.
As reported, the 2nd conference and exhibition on support to domestic production in the petrochemical industry of Iran started on Feb. 15 and will continue for 3 days. The conference and exhibition were attended by more than 200 representatives of startups, equipment manufacturers, petrochemical companies, banks, and financial institutions.
About 60 percent of the products produced by Iran's Nouri Petrochemical Company are exported and 40 percent sold at the Iranian Energy Exchange (IRENEX). The products are mainly exported to European countries, East and South Asian countries, the Indian subcontinent, and the countries around the Persian Gulf.
The company produces 1.2 million tons of p-Xylene, benzene, and p-Xylene and 3.3 million tons of heavy and light hydrocarbons, heavy aromatic, LPG, pentane, and light naphtha products annually.
Furthermore, the company’s plant consumes 4.7 million tons of fuel per year. Thus, 4.5 million tons of which is gas condensate and supplied from refineries of the South Pars Gas Company.
