Several water and electricity facilities put into operation in Iran – Energy Minister

In general, 307 water and electricity facilities worth 810 trillion rials (about $19.3 billion) have been put into operation in Iran since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020), the Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said, Trend reports citing the IRINN.

He made the remark in an event dedicated to the launch of water and electricity facilities in Iran today on March 16.

The minister emphasized that however, 250 water and electricity facilities worth 500 trillion rials (about $11.9 billion) were to be put into operation in Iran over the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021).

Ardakanian added that 14 water reservoirs, irrigation lines supplying water to 55,000 hectares of land, 10 facilities on water supplying to cities, 9 water filtration centers, 13 sewage filtration centers, 9 power plants, 30 small-scale power plants, 25 alternative renewable power plants were put into operation in Iran in the current Iranian year. In addition, 1,350 villages were supplied with water.

"With the launch of power plants, 2,330 megawatt-hours of electricity have been added to Iran's electricity generation potential," he said.

Today on Mar. 16, six water and electricity facilities were put into operation and the foundation of one facility was laid in Iran for 142 trillion rials (about $3.37 billion).
